Binance updated its token labels on March 6, adding nine tokens including dogwifhat (WIF), Loopring (LRC), and Hooked Protocol (HOOK) to its Watch Tag list. The exchange also removed Flow (FLOW) from the Watch Tag category and lifted the Seed Tag for Ondo (ONDO) and Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL).
Nine tokens added to the Watch Tag list
The newly added Watch Tag tokens are Contentos (COS), Dego Finance (DEGO), Ampleforth Governance Token (FORTH), FUNToken (FUN), Hooked Protocol (HOOK), Loopring (LRC), MOBOX (MBOX), Orchid (OXT), and dogwifhat (WIF). On Binance, the Watch Tag is used for projects considered to carry relatively higher risk or volatility, and tokens under this label face closer review.
WIF drew the most attention in this round of changes. The token has been one of the best-known Solana meme coins in the current cycle, and its price once climbed to nearly $5 in 2024. Recent performance has been weaker. Its inclusion under the Watch Tag means Binance believes it no longer meets the standards it had when it was originally listed, leaving open the possibility of delisting later on.
FLOW removed from Watch Tag
Binance also removed Flow (FLOW) from the Watch Tag list. That is seen as a positive change for holders, as it indicates Binance considers FLOW to have met its listing standards again. According to the notice, deposits and withdrawals for FLOW have been opened.
ONDO and VIRTUAL exit the Seed Tag category
Another part of the update involved ONDO and VIRTUAL, both of which were removed from the Seed Tag category. Based on the source material, that change indicates the two tokens passed Binance's reviews related to liquidity and compliance. The latest update covered three types of changes at once: new Watch Tags, a Watch Tag removal, and Seed Tag removals.
