Binance has rolled out significant enhancements to its Binance Junior platform, introducing Red Packet gifting, Merchant Pay, and full integration of the ABCs of Crypto e-book. Launched in December 2025, the platform is designed for children and teens aged 6 to 17, offering a secure, parent-managed environment where families can explore cryptocurrency together while building responsible financial habits.

New Features: Digital Red Packets, Merchant Payments, and Interactive Learning

Timed with Ramadan and the Chinese Lunar New Year, Binance encourages families to adopt crypto Red Packets as a modern, cash-free way to share festive greetings. When a Red Packet is sent, the junior recipient receives an instant notification and wallet credit, adding a digital twist to traditional celebrations. The new Merchant Pay feature allows parents to authorize their children to make purchases at approved merchants, automatically excluding restricted categories such as gambling and tobacco. This gives young users hands-on experience in managing digital money within safe boundaries.

On the educational front, the ABCs of Crypto e-book is now fully integrated into the app, offering illustrated lessons that simplify complex blockchain and crypto concepts. By combining allowance management, spending capabilities, and accessible learning, Binance aims to foster intergenerational financial education.

Parental Controls and $12,000 Annual Limit

Parents retain full oversight with tools to monitor activity, set permissions, and enforce an annual limit of $12,000 on cryptocurrency transfers and Red Packet gifts. This ensures that children can explore crypto in a responsible, controlled manner while building real-world financial skills.

Binance co-CEO Yi He stated: “Binance Junior is a family-focused platform designed for children to manage their allowance with savings and payment features. By helping children develop good money management habits early on, we hope to empower families to build a strong foundation for their financial future.” She added that many new features were inspired by community feedback, with more updates planned to make crypto education fun and accessible.

Global Crypto Literacy Push

Binance Junior is part of Binance’s broader mission to promote crypto literacy worldwide. Through initiatives like Binance Academy and partnerships with organizations such as Africell in Africa, Binance has conducted workshops, co-branded courses, and developed accessible learning tools to bridge the digital divide. From families in Asia to new users across Africa, Binance aims to strip away complexity and turn crypto curiosity into practical, everyday utility.

Binance envisions Junior as a platform that grows with its users, preparing families for a future where digital finance plays a central role.
