Binance kicked off a four-week USD1 holding airdrop at 08:00 (UTC+8) on January 23, distributing a total of $40 million worth of World Liberty Financial (WLFI) tokens in weekly installments. Users who hold the stablecoin USD1 automatically participate, with the first rewards scheduled for deposit into spot accounts on February 2.
Eligibility and Calculation
Eligible users must hold USD1 net balances in any of these Binance account types: spot, funding, margin (as cross or isolated collateral), or USDⓈ-M futures (as collateral, including multi-asset mode). The system takes multiple snapshots daily, using the lowest net holding of the day as the calculation base. Borrowed USD1 is excluded.
Reward Multiplier and Schedule
Standard holdings earn a 1.0x multiplier; using USD1 as futures or margin collateral qualifies for a 1.2x boost. Each week sees $10 million in WLFI distributed over four rounds: first payout on February 2, then every Friday. Attempts to briefly inflate holdings via loans are ineffective, as borrowed USD1 does not count toward net holdings.
USD1 Market Impact
Following the announcement, the USD1/USDT pair rose 0.2% in one hour to 1.0018. USD1, issued by the Trump family's World Liberty Financial, launched in early 2025 and saw its circulation approach $3.5 billion within a year, now live on 10 blockchains including Ethereum and Solana. WLFI aims to leverage federal licensing as a growth catalyst, targeting USD1 as a global settlement layer under regulatory oversight.
