BlockBeats reported on Aug. 20 that well-known trader Killa compared Bitcoin’s current chart structure with its 2022 bottoming pattern and said traders should watch for the possibility of a short-term pullback after the recent strong breakout. According to Killa, Bitcoin may still hold its prior lows rather than decisively breaking below them, which keeps the comparison with the earlier structure in play for now. He said the only way to validate the setup would be for BTC to retrace back into its previous consolidation range and show clear signs of weakness on the 4-hour or 1-day chart. If that weakness does not appear, and if Bitcoin does not return to that range, then the pattern comparison would be invalidated. The report also noted Killa’s earlier market calls. Described as a quantitative trader focused on BTC, he previously called the top of the current bull market in May 2025 and has more than 200,000 followers on X. In mid-April, he opened a short position on Bitcoin at $74,688, then flipped bullish on June 5 during a broad market sell-off.

According to BlockBeats, trader Killa compared Bitcoin’s current market structure with its late-2022 bottoming pattern on Aug. 20 and said investors should pay attention to the chance of a short-term pullback after the asset’s strong breakout.

Killa said, 「Bitcoin can still hold the previous lows without actually breaking below them.」

What would confirm the pattern

He said the only way to confirm the setup would be for BTC to retrace into its earlier consolidation range and then show obvious weakness on the 4-hour or 1-day chart.

If no such weakness appears, and BTC does not move back into that range, then the pattern would be invalidated.

Killa’s previous calls

BlockBeats described Killa as a quantitative trader focused on BTC. The report said he called the top of the current bull market in May 2025 and has more than 200,000 followers on X.

In mid-April, he shorted Bitcoin at $74,688. On June 5, during a broad market decline, he turned bullish.
