Market Overview: Ninth Straight Day of Outflows for Spot Bitcoin ETFs
According to SoSoValue data, spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a net outflow of $223 million on June 30 (Eastern Time), extending the losing streak to nine consecutive trading days starting from June 22. This sustained capital withdrawal signals ongoing institutional selling pressure. Despite cumulative net inflows still standing at a healthy $51.15 billion, the recent outflow trend has raised concerns among investors.
As of press time, the total net asset value of all spot Bitcoin ETFs stands at $70.95 billion, with the ETF-to-Bitcoin market cap ratio at approximately 6.02%. This ratio has declined from earlier highs, reflecting the dilution of ETF weight in the broader Bitcoin market amid recent outflows.
Key ETF Performance: BlackRock IBIT Leads Decline, Fidelity FBTC Follows
Among the outflows, BlackRock's IBIT dominated with a single-day net outflow of $212 million, accounting for over 95% of the total. IBIT's historical cumulative net inflows remain robust at $60.25 billion, making it the largest spot Bitcoin ETF by assets. The recent heavy outflow may be linked to large holder unwinding or hedge fund arbitrage activities.
Fidelity's FBTC recorded a more modest net outflow of $10.19 million on the same day, yet it continued the broader downtrend. FBTC's cumulative net inflows stand at $10.13 billion, second only to IBIT. Data on other spot Bitcoin ETFs were not immediately available, but the overall market showed clear shrinkage.
Historical Cumulative and Asset Base
Despite the short-term outflow, the spot Bitcoin ETF market maintains a substantial footprint. Cumulative net inflows across all ETFs total $51.15 billion, with IBIT and FBTC together accounting for over 98%. The total net asset value of $70.95 billion indicates that even after nine days of outflows, the ETF market still holds significant Bitcoin exposure.
Analysts suggest that the persistent outflows may be related to market expectations for Fed interest rate policy, regulatory uncertainties, or a broader risk-asset pullback. However, the precise drivers require monitoring of future trading sessions. Investors should keep a close watch on the capital flows of flagship products like BlackRock's IBIT to gauge institutional sentiment shifts.
