Bitcoin slipped below $83,000 and traded at $82,965, down almost 1% over the past 24 hours.
Elsewhere, gold held above $4,100 an ounce, while silver fell to fresh lows below $59. Tech shares were also under pressure, with Nasdaq 100 futures down nearly 1%.
