BitFlyer Europe, a subsidiary of Japanese crypto exchange bitFlyer Holdings, has obtained a MiCA CASP license from the Luxembourg financial regulator CSSF, effective June 26. This marks the first time a Japanese crypto exchange has received a MiCA CASP license, allowing bitFlyer to offer cross-border crypto services across all 27 EU member states. The move signifies the entry of Japanese exchanges into the EU's unified regulatory framework under MiCA.

According to CoinPost, bitFlyer Europe, a Luxembourg-based subsidiary of bitFlyer Holdings, has been granted a MiCA Crypto Asset Service Provider (CASP) license by the Luxembourg Financial Supervisory Authority (CSSF), effective June 26. With this license, bitFlyer can now provide cross-border crypto asset services across all 27 EU member states.

BitFlyer stated that this is the first time a Japanese crypto exchange has obtained a MiCA CASP license, marking a significant step for Japanese exchanges in European regulatory compliance. MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation) is the EU's unified regulatory framework for crypto assets, designed to protect investors and foster innovation.
