Bitget has been registered with New Zealand’s Financial Service Providers Register, clearing the way for the exchange to offer foreign exchange, cross-border remittance, and custody services in the country. The registration also requires the company to join the local Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman dispute resolution scheme. The New Zealand move comes alongside Bitget’s broader compliance push. On July 21, the exchange launched derivatives linked to traditional financial assets, while its CEO said financial platforms need a broader compliance framework. Earlier, on June 17, Bitget submitted a MiCAR authorization application to Austria’s Financial Market Authority, seeking approval to operate across the European Union. The developments were cited by Techub, which referenced CryptoBriefing.
