Bitget Debuts U.S. Stock Options: 0 Commission, 540+ Underlyings, T+1 Settlement

On July 2, Bitget officially launched U.S. stock options trading, becoming the first major crypto exchange to directly support this product. The initial offering includes over 540 popular underlying assets, covering core index ETFs such as SPY (S&P 500), QQQ (Nasdaq-100), DIA (Dow 30), as well as individual stocks like Nvidia, Apple, and Tesla. Bitget plans to gradually expand coverage to all U.S. stocks and ETFs.

To lower the entry barrier, Bitget applies a 0 commission policy on all options trades, with only standard option chain spreads and exchange fees. Trading hours follow U.S. market hours (9:30 AM – 4:00 PM ET), with T+1 settlement matching the underlying spot market. Notably, the system only supports cash-only transactions (no margin buying), and the margin requirement for both Long Call and Long Put is 100%. The platform also provides order-level profit/loss estimation, order modification, cancellation, and historical record inquiry to help users achieve more transparent asset allocation.

Promotional Incentive: First Trade Rewards with NVDA Stock

To celebrate the launch, Bitget is offering a limited-time promotion: eligible users who complete registration and place their first U.S. stock options trade during the campaign will receive $15 worth of Nvidia (NVDA) stock. Users need to update the Bitget App to version 2.87.0 to participate.

Industry Perspective: CeFi Platforms Expand into Traditional Finance

Bitget's move into U.S. stock options marks a significant shift for crypto exchanges—from pure digital asset trading toward comprehensive financial services. Previously limited to crypto perpetuals and spot, the addition of options allows users to manage both crypto and traditional equity exposure within a single account, reducing cross-platform friction. This also represents a key step in Bitget's compliance journey, as it holds licenses in multiple jurisdictions and continues to diversify its product lines.

For traders, the 0 commission and T+1 settlement lower the cost of entry, but the 100% margin requirement (no leverage) demands a solid understanding of options strategies. If Bitget later introduces margin trading or lending, it could directly compete with traditional brokers like Robinhood and Webull in the U.S. equities space.
