BitMEX has introduced Hyperliquid copy trading, expanding its copy trading marketplace by allowing users to replicate the strategies of top traders from Hyperliquid directly on the BitMEX platform. The new feature is designed to give users exposure to leading decentralized perpetual trading strategies while keeping execution within BitMEX’s centralized environment.
Bringing Perp DEX strategies into a centralized workflow
According to the announcement, Hyperliquid is the leading decentralized perpetual exchange and accounts for more than 60% of open interest in the Perp DEX sector. Perpetual contracts remain a core product in crypto derivatives because they combine leveraged exposure with the flexibility of spot-style trading and do not expire.
By connecting Hyperliquid trader strategies to its own platform, BitMEX is aiming to offer users access to decentralized trading innovation without requiring them to interact directly with DeFi infrastructure and its associated risks. A dedicated Hyperliquid tab and leaderboard highlight top-performing traders for users to review.
Copy or reverse copy with built-in risk controls
Users can choose to copy trades or reverse copy them, with positions executed automatically on BitMEX. The platform said traders can follow up to five traders at the same time, while also applying customizable controls such as stop loss and take profit to better manage risk exposure.
BitMEX CEO Stephan Lutz said the launch extends the exchange’s legacy in perpetuals, arguing that the new feature brings the alpha of the leading Perp DEX into BitMEX users’ existing trading workflow.
Designed for both newcomers and professionals
The feature is positioned to appeal to multiple user segments. For newer traders, it offers a more hands-off way to participate by tracking strategies from proven market participants. For professional traders, the leaderboard and copy trading structure may provide greater visibility and an additional path to attract followers.
Overall, the rollout strengthens BitMEX’s effort to serve as a bridge between decentralized trading innovation and centralized reliability. As the crypto derivatives market continues to evolve, the launch reflects a broader push by exchanges to make high-activity onchain trading strategies more accessible to mainstream users.
