BitMine Stakes Another 160,480 ETH, Cumulative Reach 4.88 Million ETH
On-chain data tracker Lookonchain reports that BitMine, an entity linked to well-known analyst Tom Lee, has again moved 160,480 ETH (worth approximately $248.7 million at current prices) into an Ethereum staking contract. This latest deposit brings BitMine's total staked amount to 4.88 million ETH, valued at roughly $7.56 billion, which accounts for 86% of its entire ETH holdings.
The high staking ratio underscores BitMine's strong bullish stance on Ethereum's future and its willingness to lock up the vast majority of its idle capital for yield generation. Compared with previous staking events, the pace has accelerated, possibly reflecting a strategy to hedge against short-term volatility while capturing long-term staking rewards.
With 4.88 million ETH under staking, BitMine now ranks among the top ten validators on the Ethereum network, surpassing most centralized exchanges and DeFi protocols. While this large stake enhances network security by reducing circulating supply, it also concentrates controlling power and introduces potential liquidation risks if ETH experiences extreme price swings.
