Crypto trader Bonk Guy has addressed recent criticism over his EMBER purchase, laying out the timing and reasoning behind the trade. He said he first noticed the project when its valuation was around $3 million but did not buy at that point. After watching it for a day and seeing rapid platform data growth, he revisited the project and accumulated a position from roughly a $7 million valuation up to about $20 million. In his explanation, Bonk Guy described EMBER as a major launchpad built on Meteora infrastructure. He said the platform supports SOL, USDC, and more than 150 tokenized stocks as paired assets for token launches, uses Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve technology, and includes features such as token tax distribution, Daily Jackpots, and DAO governance. He also shared operating data for the platform, saying that within three days of launch, Ember recorded about $51.7 million in trading volume, $561,000 in fees, 2,041 tokens launched, more than 41,800 unique holder addresses, and 149,000 Solana transactions. Bonk Guy compared the trade with his earlier PONS position and said he focuses more on underlying launchpad usage than on whether a breakout token has already emerged. He also said claims that more than 50% of EMBER was tied to a Bubblemaps address cluster had been clarified by Bubblemaps, and added that EMBER was not launched by Meteora but is built on related Meteora infrastructure and has been listed on Meteora’s ecosystem page. He said he has no relationship with the Ember team and that the position is a personal trade.

Crypto trader Bonk Guy said on X that he is responding to the recent controversy around his purchase of EMBER and explaining the logic behind the position.

According to Bonk Guy, he first noticed EMBER when the project was valued at about $3 million, but he did not buy then. After watching it for a day and seeing platform data rise quickly, he revisited the project and bought from roughly a $7 million valuation up to a $20 million valuation.

Why he said EMBER stood out

Bonk Guy described EMBER as a major launchpad based on Meteora. He said it supports SOL, USDC, and more than 150 tokenized stocks as paired assets for launched tokens, uses Meteora Dynamic Bonding Curve technology, and includes token tax distribution, Daily Jackpots, and DAO governance.

He disclosed that in its first three days, Ember recorded about $51.7 million in trading volume and $561,000 in fees. He also said the platform had launched 2,041 tokens, reached more than 41,800 unique holder addresses, and generated 149,000 Solana transactions.

Comparison with his earlier PONS trade

Bonk Guy compared the Ember trade with his earlier PONS trade. He said he first saw PONS when its valuation was below $1 million, also ignored it for a full day, and then started buying at about a $4 million valuation.

He said the more important thing is not whether a hot token has already appeared, but the real usage data underneath the launchpad.

His view on Solana launchpads and the recent dispute

Bonk Guy also said Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain both have multiple successful launchpads, while Solana’s meme trading ecosystem has been developing for longer. On that basis, he said there is no reason to think Solana can ultimately support only one successful launchpad.

He added that his trades are not based on market consensus. Some of his most successful trades, he said, came from spotting opportunities before consensus formed. By the time everyone agrees, the asymmetric upside is usually much smaller.

Addressing the recent dispute, Bonk Guy said the claim that EMBER had more than 50% of its supply tied to a Bubblemaps address cluster had already been clarified by Bubblemaps. He also said his earlier description of Ember as having been launched by Meteora was not accurate. A more precise description, he said, is that Ember is built on related Meteora infrastructure and is now listed on Meteora’s ecosystem page.

Bonk Guy said he has no relationship with the Ember team and that EMBER is a personal trade for him.
