Open interest, which measures the total notional value of outstanding futures contracts, tends to fall when traders close positions voluntarily or through liquidations.
Among the major exchanges, Binance held the top position with $8.447 billion in open interest. Bybit followed with $4.171 billion, Gate with $3.323 billion, and OKX with $2.657 billion. The combined open interest of these four platforms underscores their dominant role in the Bitcoin derivatives market.
