Bloomberg previously reported that ByteDance had discussed increasing this year’s capital expenditure to as much as $70 billion, with most of the money aimed at AI infrastructure including data centers.

Earlier this month, ByteDance also obtained a $29.6 billion syndicated loan. Reuters said the financing was mainly intended for AI projects outside China, including data centers in Southeast Asia.
