Celestia said its data availability system, Fibre, reached sustained throughput of 3.07 terabits per second in an end-to-end benchmark involving 120 validators. The test covered the full pipeline, including data encoding, distribution, storage, validator signatures, and on-chain commitment submission. The team said the result came from an experimental benchmark and should not be read as evidence that the Celestia mainnet is currently handling real user traffic at the same rate. Based on the figure disclosed, the throughput would be enough to support a theoretical capacity of nearly 2 billion transactions per second. Celestia added that performance in a live production setting still needs to be validated. The update was reported by Techub, citing NewsBTC.

Celestia said its data availability system Fibre achieved sustained throughput of 3.07 terabits per second in an end-to-end benchmark that involved 120 validators.

The benchmark covered the full process, including data encoding, distribution, storage, validator signatures, and on-chain commitment submission.

Team says the result was experimental

Celestia said the figure came from an experimental benchmark and does not show that the Celestia mainnet is currently processing real user traffic at the same rate.

Based on the number disclosed, that level of throughput would be enough to support a theoretical capacity of nearly 2 billion transactions per second. Celestia said actual performance in production still needs to be verified.
