XRP wallets associated with Ripple co-founder and executive chairman Chris Larsen have become active again on-chain just before Tuesday’s Texas Democratic primary runoff. The timing drew quick attention because Larsen-linked transfers have previously appeared around major market moments and politically sensitive periods.
Data tracked on XRPScan estimates that Larsen controls roughly 2.58 billion XRP across eight wallets. With XRP trading near $1.35 at the time of writing, those holdings are worth about $3.5 billion, making them one of the largest known individual positions in a single cryptocurrency.
Past transfers have kept these wallets under close watch
This is not the first time Larsen-linked addresses have stirred interest. In January 2025, wallets that had been dormant for six to seven years resumed activity and sent more than $109 million in XRP to exchanges including Coinbase, Bitstamp, and Bybit. In July 2025, on-chain investigator ZachXBT reported another $140 million in XRP transfers from addresses tied to Larsen, at a time when XRP was trading near an all-time high above $3.40.
ZachXBT wrote on X in July 2025: “Since July 17, 2025, an address linked to Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen transferred out 50M XRP worth about $175M to four addresses. Around $140M ended up at exchanges or services.” As of publication, Larsen had not publicly commented on the latest wallet activity.
On-chain data does not yet show the purpose of the movement
The available blockchain data does not confirm whether the latest movement is a prelude to exchange deposits or simply internal wallet management. That part remains unclear. What is clear is that any transfer tied to Larsen is closely watched because of the scale of his holdings and the broader political setting around crypto regulation in the United States.
The report also points to continued attention on the Clarity Act in Congress and to the relevance of that legislative process for XRP. Against that backdrop, the reactivation of Larsen-linked wallets ahead of the Texas runoff gives the movement added significance in terms of timing, even though the destination and intent of the transfers have not been established.
