A research note cited by ChainCatcher on Aug. 25 said OpenAI cut the price of GPT-5.6 SolAPI by more than 20% on Aug. 21, lowering the cost of calling high-performance models. According to CITIC Securities, the move could increase usage in high-token scenarios such as agents and code generation, which in turn may keep driving demand for inference-side computing power. The note also pointed to Alibaba’s latest quarterly results, saying AI Cloud and Compute Services revenue reached about 48.4 billion yuan, up 45% year over year, while revenue from AI-related products has posted triple-digit growth for 12 straight quarters. In the brokerage’s view, those figures show AI demand is moving more quickly toward commercial monetization. The report said it remains positive on supply-chain opportunities tied to large-model commercialization and rising computing demand, including optical modules, servers, liquid cooling, and cloud computing.

The report also cited Alibaba’s latest quarterly figures, saying AI Cloud and Compute Services revenue was about 48.4 billion yuan, up 45% from a year earlier. Revenue from AI-related products has recorded triple-digit growth for 12 consecutive quarters, which the note said shows AI demand is accelerating toward commercialization.
