Coinbase said in a post on X that spot margin trading is available only to eligible customers in certain jurisdictions, with access in the United States restricted to eligible contract participants. The company added that the lender, custodian, and spot execution entity depend on where a customer is located and are governed by the applicable terms. Coinbase also warned that borrowing can magnify both gains and losses, that collateral may be liquidated without prior notice, and that customers could lose more than their initial deposit.
