Stand With Crypto, the advocacy organization launched by Coinbase in 2023, has endorsed 32 candidates running for seats in the US House of Representatives ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. The group said its selections were based on the candidates’ positions on digital asset policy and framed the effort as part of a campaign to help elect what it called 「the most pro-crypto Congress in history.」
In a notice issued Monday, Stand With Crypto said the 32-candidate slate was intended to shape digital asset policy in the federal government. The organization said it backed politicians it described as 「proven digital asset policy champions」 and was also focusing on competitive races where the number of Stand With Crypto advocates was most likely to affect the result.
Mason Lynaugh, executive director of Stand With Crypto, said: 「Crypto Voters have become a durable, motivated voting bloc, which has the potential to swing key congressional races in the midterms.」
The announcement came with just over two months left before the US general election. Some experts, according to the report, expect crypto policy to be a potential swing issue for voters in many close contests. Stand With Crypto had previously announced its first group of endorsements in March, naming six candidates — three Republicans and three Democrats. All six advanced from their primaries and are set to compete in the November election.
The article also pointed to the scale of crypto industry political spending in the last cycle. During the 2024 election cycle, organizations and political action committees backed by crypto companies spent more than $170 million supporting candidates they viewed as favorable to the industry, and many of those candidates went on to win. Stand With Crypto said more than 270 「pro-crypto」 candidates were sent to Congress in 2025, a result it said could influence votes on legislation including the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for US Stablecoins, or GENIUS, Act.
CLARITY still awaits Senate action
The composition of the next US Congress, in both the House and the Senate, could affect whether a broader crypto market structure bill ultimately becomes law. The House passed the Digital Asset Market Clarity, or CLARITY, Act in July 2025 with bipartisan support. In the Senate, however, consideration of the bill has been shaped by debate over ethics, tokenization and stablecoin rewards.
CLARITY is scheduled for a cloture motion after the Senate returns from recess on Sept. 15. Even then, the chamber will have only 14 session days before breaking again ahead of the November election. After the midterms, senators will have another 22 session days before 2027 to send the bill back to the House, after which it could move to the president’s desk for approval.
Last week, President Donald Trump appeared alongside several crypto CEOs and executives and urged the Senate to pass a 「fair version」 of CLARITY. The report said the Trump family’s financial ties to the crypto industry could complicate any vote on the bill. It also cited a recent poll showing that a majority of Americans viewed those crypto investments as 「not appropriate.」
