The lineup includes futures, perpetual swaps and crypto options. Perpetuals carry no expiry date and support long, short and neutral strategies, with leverage up to 50x. Fixed-term futures offer up to 20x leverage and come with a set settlement date.
Coinbase secured UK investment services authorization in July. The derivatives business will operate under the investment services permission held by CB Payments Ltd.
Initially, only eligible UK professional investors will gain access. The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) will enforce requirements around financial soundness, capital adequacy, stress testing and market integrity.
