ChainCatcher reported, citing Coinglass data, that total liquidations across the crypto market reached $361 million over the past 24 hours. Of that amount, long liquidations accounted for $163 million, while short liquidations totaled $198 million. In futures and derivatives trading, liquidation refers to the forced closure of a position when margin requirements are no longer met.
Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation breakdown
For Bitcoin, long liquidations stood at $26.848 million, while short liquidations reached $70.3038 million. For Ethereum, long liquidations totaled $28.1364 million, and short liquidations came in at $40.7054 million. In both Bitcoin and Ethereum, short-side liquidations were larger than the corresponding long-side figures over the reported 24-hour period.
The data also showed that 119,781 traders worldwide were liquidated during the latest 24-hour window. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance - XAGUSDT, with a value of $3.304 million. The figures were sourced from Coinglass and reported by ChainCatcher.
