According to ChainCatcher, data from Coinglass shows that total liquidations across the crypto market reached $178 million over the past 24 hours. Long liquidations amounted to $57.3395 million, while short liquidations totaled $121 million. Based on these figures, short liquidations accounted for the larger share of the 24-hour liquidation total.
Bitcoin and Ethereum liquidation breakdown
For Bitcoin, long liquidations reached $10.8736 million, while short liquidations stood at $40.657 million. For Ethereum, long liquidations totaled $12.1028 million, and short liquidations reached $37.2136 million. In both Bitcoin and Ethereum, the reported short liquidation amount was higher than the corresponding long liquidation amount.
Coinglass data also shows that 69,433 people worldwide were liquidated over the most recent 24-hour period. The largest single liquidation order occurred on Binance - BTCUSDT, with a value of $3.435 million. The figures describe the scale of forced position closures in the derivatives market during the reported period.
