Cointelegraph, the crypto media company, is seeking a sale, according to a person familiar with the matter cited by ChainCatcher. The person, who requested anonymity because the matter is private, did not disclose the price the company is seeking.
The report says prolonged weak and range-bound crypto prices have pulled user attention away from crypto news, hurting a number of digital asset news outlets. Cointelegraph has also been hit hard by Google. After receiving a manual action from Google in October 2025, the site’s organic traffic fell by about 80% and it disappeared from Google search results.
The company had already faced other problems. In June 2025, its website was hit by a frontend vulnerability attack. Similarweb data cited in the report shows Cointelegraph had more than 12 million monthly visits in December 2024, but by Sept. 1 that figure was only slightly above 700,000.
Cointelegraph was founded in 2013, and its LinkedIn page shows more than 200 employees. Its MENA business was acquired by Luna Media Corporation in July 2022 to support global and regional expansion. Cointelegraph did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
