CoinW said it has continued to upgrade its risk detection, operational monitoring, and user asset protection systems, with a focus on spotting suspicious account activity and unusual fund movements more quickly. As of Aug. 24, the digital asset exchange said it had intercepted 234 high-risk deposit and withdrawal transactions during the month, involving nearly 100,000 USDT. It also said it worked with user feedback and external assistance to handle five separate risk cases. The platform also disclosed a recent account security incident. According to CoinW, its monitoring system detected unusual operations and suspicious transfer patterns in one user account, triggering a security response that placed protective restrictions on the assets while identity verification and risk tracing were carried out. After checking with the account’s actual owner, the platform said it confirmed the activity had not been authorized by that user. CoinW said the assets were preserved before they could be transferred off the platform. CoinW added that it regularly provides security education to help users identify phishing websites, fake customer service contacts, social engineering tactics, and AI-based identity impersonation. The company said it has recorded zero major security incidents since its founding in 2017, while also warning that no security measure can remove risk completely.

As of Aug. 24, CoinW said it had blocked 234 high-risk deposit and withdrawal transactions this month, involving nearly 100,000 USDT. The platform also said it worked with user feedback and external assistance to coordinate the handling of five risk cases.

CoinW details one account protection case

CoinW said it recently detected unusual activity and suspicious asset transfer patterns in a user account. The platform then activated a security response, placed protective restrictions on the related assets, and carried out identity verification and risk tracing at the same time.

After confirming the situation with the actual account holder, CoinW said it determined that the operations had not been authorized by the user. The platform said the assets were ultimately secured before they could be transferred out, preventing the risk from spreading further.

Exchange urges users to stay alert

CoinW also said it regularly runs user security education programs to improve awareness of phishing sites, fake customer service schemes, social engineering, and AI-based identity impersonation risks.

According to CoinW, the exchange has kept user asset security as a top priority since its founding in 2017 and has maintained a record of zero major security incidents. The company also warned that no security measure can eliminate risk entirely and urged users to safeguard their account information.
