Digital asset exchange CoinW used its ninth anniversary summit to outline the security architecture behind the platform, with chief security advisor Dr. Michael Liu saying the company has gone nine years without a security incident. Liu said CoinW places security at the center of its corporate culture, maintains a foundation-first approach, and relies on layered defense. He added that the exchange has obtained ISO27001 certification and received CER.live’s top AAA independent security rating.
Security system spans infrastructure, identity, data, and compliance
Reviewing the company’s setup, Liu said CoinW has built protections across endpoints, networks, systems, applications, identity, data, operations, and compliance. He also said security has been embedded into code development and the CI/CD pipeline.
To address risks specific to exchanges, CoinW uses core security technologies including Multi-Party Computation, or MPC, Key Management System, or KMS, and Trusted Execution Environment, or TEE. Those measures are paired with hot and cold wallet separation, multi-signature approval, multi-person review, and freeze-and-recovery mechanisms designed to protect private keys and on-chain funds.
Identity controls, SOC operations, and KYT monitoring
On identity management, CoinW said it uses single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, identity and access management, and separation of duties to keep permissions to a minimum. Its security operations center, or SOC, combines alerts, threat intelligence, and red-blue confrontation exercises, turning signals into decisions.
The company also said it has formed partnerships with multiple on-chain asset security firms and conducts real-time Know Your Transaction, or KYT, security screening on blockchain transfers to help ensure the legality and compliance of on-chain asset flows.
AI-driven Agentic Security rollout
CoinW said it is pushing ahead with a broad deployment of AI-driven Agentic Security. The rollout covers code security, attack surface management, intrusion testing and security drills, alert triage, intelligence summaries, and response recommendations.
Liu said CoinW will continue to push platformization, normalized AI use, and deeper asset security, with technology replacing trust and mechanisms protecting security.
