The cryptocurrency market kicked off the week on a positive note, with total global market capitalization reaching $2.25 trillion, up 3.01% in the past 24 hours. Bitcoin and Ethereum both posted modest gains of 3.13% and 3.61% respectively, but the real action took place in the meme token sector, where several tokens delivered spectacular returns.
Meme Tokens Dominate the Winners List
The standout performer of the week was SPX6900 (SPX), which skyrocketed an astonishing 107.2%. Trailing closely, AI-powered meme token Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) climbed 70.2%. Other notable winners include Reef (REEF) with a 50% gain, Baby Doge Coin (BABYDOGE) jumping 45.31%, Book of Meme (BOME) rising 39.71%, and Dog Go to the Moon (DOG) up 38.86%. Additional tokens such as MOG, AXL, ZEC, BDX, and WLD also recorded double-digit percentage increases.
In terms of trading volume (excluding BTC, ETH and stablecoins), the most active assets this week were SOL, BNB, SUI, PEPE, XRP, DOGE, WIF, NEIRO, and APT. The presence of multiple meme coins in the top volume list indicates that speculative appetite is shifting toward higher-risk, community-driven projects.
Scroll Leads Decliners; FTT and HMSTR Struggle
On the losing side, only a handful of coins suffered double-digit losses. The newly launched Scroll (SCR) was the biggest casualty, collapsing over 50% in a week. FTX Token (FTT) dropped 23.37%, still reeling from the exchange’s bankruptcy fallout. Hamster Kombat (HMSTR) continued its downtrend, losing another 13.33%. Other losers include RLB (-11.44%) and HNT (-11.11%).
Market Outlook: Euphoria or Sustainable Rally?
This week’s data suggests a renewed sense of optimism among investors, particularly towards tokens with strong narratives and community engagement. However, analysts caution that meme coin rallies are often volatile and may not be sustainable without fundamental support. The broader market's ability to hold gains will depend on macroeconomic conditions and regulatory developments in the coming days. For now, the crypto market appears to be shaking off last week's losses, and traders are watching closely to see if the momentum can carry forward into the next week.
