24-Hour Liquidation Overview
According to Coinglass data, total liquidations across the crypto market reached $174 million in the past 24 hours. Of that total, long positions accounted for $71.1399 million, while short positions made up $103 million. The distribution shows that short traders absorbed the larger share of forced liquidations during the period, indicating that recent price action moved more aggressively against bearish positioning.
From a derivatives-market perspective, the imbalance between long and short liquidations suggests that traders betting on downside continuation were caught offside more heavily than those positioned for upside. The data does not provide a full market context by itself, but it clearly shows that short-side liquidation pressure exceeded long-side losses over the same 24-hour window.
BTC and ETH Liquidation Breakdown
Among major assets, Bitcoin recorded $9.7551 million in long liquidations and $22.1575 million in short liquidations. Ethereum posted $13.749 million in long liquidations and $34.7389 million in short liquidations. In both BTC and ETH, short liquidations were substantially higher than long liquidations, reinforcing the broader market pattern seen in the aggregate figures.
Ethereum’s short liquidation total was particularly notable among the disclosed asset-level figures, coming in well above its long liquidation amount. Bitcoin showed the same directional pattern, though at a smaller scale than ETH in absolute terms based on the numbers provided. These asset-specific readings align with the wider market picture of stronger pressure on short exposure.
Trader Count and Largest Single Liquidation
Over the same 24-hour period, a total of 65,864 traders were liquidated globally. The largest single liquidation order was recorded on Binance in the BTCUSDT market, with a value of $2.7283 million. This highlights that, alongside broad-based liquidations across the market, large individual positions also faced forced closure.
