As of June 4, data from SoSoValue revealed a clear divergence across cryptocurrency sectors. The AI sector led gains with a 3.59% increase over 24 hours, while major tokens like Bitcoin and Ethereum suffered notable losses, weighing on overall market sentiment. This created a stark split in performance across the digital asset landscape.

AI and DeFi Sectors Shine

Within the AI sector, Worldcoin (WLD) surged an impressive 22%, driving the entire category higher. SkyAI (SKYAI) and Tagger (TAG) also posted gains of 6.26% and 10.28%, respectively, underscoring the sector's strength. The DeFi sector followed with a 1.93% advance. Hyperliquid (HYPE) rose 2.20%, breaking through the $75 mark during the session to set yet another all-time high, highlighting the sustained momentum behind this perpetual exchange platform. Ethena (ENA) skyrocketed 21.51% after receiving its first investment from Coinbase Ventures, making it one of the top performers in DeFi.

Major Coins Under Pressure

In contrast, heavyweights faced significant headwinds. Bitcoin (BTC) tumbled 6.19% in 24 hours, briefly dipping below the $62,000 level—a key psychological threshold. Ethereum (ETH) lost 4.52%, slipping under $1,800. The decline in these two bellwether assets exerted notable downward pressure on the total crypto market capitalization and indicated intensified selling activity.

Mixed Results Across Other Sectors

The RWA sector edged up 1.48%, with Ondo Finance (ONDO) adding 0.56%. NFT tokens gained 2.55%, led by Audiera (BEAT) which soared 19.27%. Layer2 as a whole fell 1.04%, though Polygon (POL) managed a 0.69% increase. The Meme sector declined 1.85%, and Layer1 dropped 3.67%, even as Kaspa (KAS) climbed 6.30%. PayFi fell 3.73%, but privacy coin Monero (XMR) advanced 7.60%. CeFi lost 5.14%, with Aster (ASTER) inching up 0.15%.

Tracking historical sector performance, the SoSoValue crypto sector indices also trended lower. The ssiSocialFi, ssiCeFi, and ssiMAG7 indices recorded declines of 8.61%, 5.61%, and 5.35%, respectively, with ssiSocialFi leading the losses and reinforcing the theme of uneven market adjustment.
