CryptoRank said on Sept. 10 that market-cap concentration among the top 100 crypto assets in 2026, excluding stablecoins, has climbed back to levels last seen in 2021. According to the data, the so-called "crypto Magnificent 7" now account for 92.1% of the combined market capitalization of the top 100 assets. Bitcoin alone makes up 66.6%, a share CryptoRank said is notably higher than it was five years ago. The firm said the figures show that growth in the current crypto market is becoming increasingly dependent on a small group of leading assets, while the broader altcoin market is receiving a much smaller share of capital. The update points to a market structure in which capital remains heavily concentrated at the top rather than spreading more evenly across the wider field of non-stablecoin tokens.
