Binance founder Changpeng Zhao commented on the Coldcard wallet attack after reposting the incident on X, saying that software will always have vulnerabilities and that the key issue is how the team behind it responds. Zhao added that Trust Wallet faced a similar problem years ago, when the use of a pseudo-random number generator rather than a truly random one led to losses of about $12 million, which the team ultimately covered for users. The remarks came as a suspected attack tied to Coldcard-generated addresses entered a third wave, with the attacker moving another 207.7294 BTC.
