Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, said on April 3 that his new book Freedom of Money will be released next week. The English ebook and a traditional Chinese ebook edition are already available for preorder on Amazon, while the English print edition is also scheduled for release next week. After going live, the title climbed to No. 1 in Amazon’s Bitcoin and cryptocurrency new releases and bestseller rankings.

Zhao said the book drew a fast response from the global crypto community as soon as preorders opened. He added that publishing the book was not intended as a profit-making project and stated that all sales proceeds will be donated to charity. He also hinted that early supporters who preorder may have a chance to receive signed copies later, a comment that quickly drew attention on social media.
Title tied to Binance’s long-stated mission
Explaining the name Freedom of Money, Zhao said it reflects Binance’s mission to increase the freedom of money, an idea he said has remained unchanged since the exchange’s early days. He pointed to remarks he has made publicly since 2018 to show that the phrase is rooted in the company’s original vision. For the Chinese title, rendered as Binance Life, Zhao said the wording was inspired by a community-created meme coin carrying the same name.
Memoir and business philosophy in one volume
According to Zhao, the book will cover his path from childhood through the founding of Binance, while also discussing the user-first operating philosophy he has emphasized over the years. Beyond the English and traditional Chinese ebook editions, other language versions are planned over the coming months. Before the official release, Zhao said he expects to share selected excerpts from the book on X in the next few days.
