CZ has a simple answer for how he handles pressure: he doesn't set goals, he just does his best.
CZ appeared on the Meanders podcast on Aug. 30 to discuss resilience, adaptability, and the motivation that keeps him going in the industry. This year, he acknowledged, has been rough for the market. The company's performance may decline, he said, but he has no regrets. 「I generally don't set goals; I just do my best. I didn't slack off, and I didn't make any major mistakes,」 he said.
He also said he believes the world is simulated. 「I believe this world is simulated, so it's like a game,」 he explained. 「It's simulated, but that doesn't mean the game isn't important. In this game, I just need to do my best. After you handle things the best you can, all that's left is to wait, lie back, and win.」
Turning to the industry, CZ said blockchain performance improvements are still coming too slowly. Bitcoin, however, benefits from its slow upgrade cycle. 「Because Bitcoin upgrades slowly, it's particularly stable. That's an advantage, so there are advantages and disadvantages,」 he noted. Many ideas from the early days have been realized, many haven't, and some things that happened were never imagined.
RWA is one such surprise. 「Even a year and a half ago, I doubted whether RWA could work,」 he said. 「But now it's growing very fast.」 Stablecoins are another. Five years ago, he was still unsure how long stablecoins could last and didn't fully understand them. Yet they have found their niche. 「Stablecoins have their uses,」 he said. These, he added, were things he had not expected.
