According to ChainCatcher, domain infrastructure company D3 has launched Frontier Hyperliquid Vault, a membership program that gives participants priority access to the next round of internet top-level domains.
Nasdaq-listed Hyperion DeFi (NASDAQ: HYPD) has been named the launch partner for the vault. D3 is a core contributor to Doma Protocol and one of the few ICANN-accredited Web3 registrars. Its backers include Paradigm.
Launch timing lines up with ICANN application round
The program arrives as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, opened the second round of new top-level domain applications in internet history in August 2026. That round drew more than 1,600 applications, including strings such as .agent, .crypto, .wallet, .sol, .robot, and .hype.
The previous expansion took place in 2012 and resulted in about 1,200 new top-level domains, which are now used by tens of millions of websites.
How participation works
D3 said users can deposit eligible assets with supported custodians on Solana and Hyperliquid to earn Frontier Points. By committing those points, participants can secure priority rights to take part in registry domain registration before formal registration begins.
Hyperion DeFi incentive arrangement
As part of the initial commitment, Hyperion DeFi will receive an allocation in a potential future DOMA token generation event under an incentive arrangement with the Doma Foundation.
About Doma Protocol
Doma Protocol is a DNS-compatible blockchain designed to tokenize the domain market, which D3 sized at about $360 billion.
