Dan Held, the former growth marketing director at crypto exchange Kraken, has publicly disavowed BIP-110, calling it a complete waste of time and development energy. In a post on X dated August 10, he said the Bitcoin community has already made its position clear, rejecting the proposal and its supporters outright. Held drew a direct comparison between BIP-110 backers and the advocates of the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) hard fork from roughly a decade ago, describing the two groups in similar terms. He pointed out that after the BCH split failed, only a few of its supporters ever stepped forward to revisit their stance or admit fault. In his view, BIP-110 supporters are now showing the same unwillingness to concede that they were wrong. Because of that, he argued that unless such individuals publicly acknowledge their misjudgment, they should not be welcomed back into Bitcoin development discussions or into the community at large.

Dan Held, who previously served as director of growth marketing at the crypto exchange Kraken, has voiced sharp criticism of BIP-110, describing the proposal as a complete waste of time and development effort.

Held made the comment in a post on X on August 10. He said the Bitcoin community has already clearly rejected the proposal, along with the people behind it. He went on to draw a parallel between BIP-110 supporters and those who backed the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) fork some ten years ago.

According to Held, after the BCH fork failed, very few of its supporters publicly reflected on the episode or admitted they had made a mistake. He argued that BIP-110 backers are displaying the same reluctance to acknowledge that their judgment was wrong.

Held concluded that unless these people publicly admit their error, they should not be brought back into Bitcoin development discussions or accepted back into the community.
