On-chain analyst Darkfost said in a post on X that altcoins, including ETH, have seen a sharp pickup in capital since June 2026. According to his figures, the total altcoin market cap excluding Bitcoin, tracked as Total2, has attracted more than $371 billion in inflows over that period, marking roughly 45% growth. He also pointed to a broad technical shift on Binance, where about 87% of listed altcoins are now trading above their 200-day moving average. In August this year, by contrast, around 80% of those altcoins were still below that level. Darkfost said the change suggests capital has been rotating clearly into altcoins in recent months. At the same time, he warned that market sentiment is already showing signs of overheating, leaving the durability of the current momentum as the key point to watch.
