Dawn Network said in its latest AMA that it is targeting a mainnet launch within the next six months, while the airdrop and token generation event still do not have confirmed dates. The team said its Q1 roadmap is already in motion, with the Dawn app expected soon, while major details on the airdrop, tokenomics, and TGE are planned for the Q2 roadmap.
AMA sets a broader launch window
The AMA took place on January 9, 2026. No exact mainnet date was given. Instead, the project offered a six-month target window, leaving users who are farming points through the extension with a clearer timeline, but still no firm answer on when any token-related event may happen.
The team described Q1 as a build-focused phase. Work includes upgrades, backend and validator stability, and the launch of the app. In Q2, the project expects to provide more clarity on the airdrop, tokenomics, and TGE. It also said verifier node features are still being developed and that the wireless network will continue moving toward deeper decentralization.
Extension update matters for users tracking rewards
Dawn Network also rolled out an updated Chrome extension with Privy login support, a change the team said is meant to improve backend stability. Users were told to sign in with the same registered email during the transition so they do not lose accumulated reward points. That update does not establish a token launch date, but it does affect current participants using the points system.
For now, the project runs a points-based reward structure through its Chrome validator extension. Based on the published details, users can earn points from daily active connection time, social media tasks, and referrals. Social tasks are listed at 5,000 points each, referrals earn 20% of referred users’ points, and daily rewards can reach 1,440 points per 24 hours. Only one extension is allowed per user.
Funding and adoption remain the headline metrics
Dawn is described as a DePIN project focused on letting users buy and sell unused local internet bandwidth to form a decentralized wireless network without traditional intermediary ISPs. The project has attracted $48.5 million in funding, with backers including Polychain, Dragonfly, ParaFi Capital, Robot Ventures, CMT Digital, and Wintermute.
User traction is also notable. The Chrome extension has recorded more than 5.9 million downloads, putting Dawn among the more widely adopted DePIN projects before mainnet. The source also says thousands of users operate nodes, provide bandwidth, and collect points each day.
Team links launch delay to market and regulatory conditions
On the question of delays, the team said the issue is not an internal technical failure. It pointed to global market instability, regulatory pressure, and uncertainty around US Trump tariffs as the main reasons for moving more slowly. The message from the project is that infrastructure work comes first, while token-related milestones will follow on a later schedule.
At this stage, Dawn Network has provided a mainnet target window and a roadmap for when more token information may arrive. It still has not confirmed whether an airdrop will happen, or when it would take place.
