Elon Musk responded to a user request by animating a static Bitcoin girl image into a 6-second clip via Grok AI, reviving a meme that got his account locked in 2018.

Crypto community account @TxCryptoSaurus posted a static anime-style image of a personified Bitcoin on X, tagging Elon Musk with just three words: "Animate that." Hours later, Musk's reply featured a 6-second animated clip where the BTC girl gently moves.

The animation was reportedly generated using xAI's Grok AI image animation feature. As of now, the reply has garnered 1,252 likes, 349 replies, and 205 retweets, spreading rapidly across crypto circles. The Bitcoin girl originates from the Cryptocurrency Girls website, a series that personifies major cryptocurrencies as anime characters, with Bitcoin being the most recognizable — a long-running meme in crypto culture.

Flashback to 2018: How the Same Meme Locked Musk's Account

For veteran crypto users, the combination of Musk and the Bitcoin girl carries special historical weight. In October 2018, Musk tweeted "Wanna buy some Bitcoin? 😉😉" with the same anime image — only for Twitter to flag his account as compromised and lock it. That incident became a legendary tale in the community.

In May 2020, he followed up with "How much for some anime Bitcoin?" Having paired with the Bitcoin girl twice before, Musk was already an old hand at this meme.

This time, he did more than share the image — he made it move, using his own AI. BTC's price, currently around $66,500, hasn't reacted, but the Twitter buzz has certainly taken the lead.
