According to a Cointelegraph market analysis, Ether is still struggling to move past the $1,700 level, with analysts warning that ETH could face another selling wave. The report pointed to several pressure points in the market: exchange inflows, slumping demand and a 31% decline in Ether futures open interest.

Exchange inflows and shrinking futures activity weigh on ETH
Exchange inflows are often watched as a sign of how much Ether is being moved to trading venues, where it can be sold. In the context of weaker demand, those inflows add to concerns that selling pressure has not fully cleared. At the same time, the 31% drop in Ether futures open interest shows a sharp contraction in derivatives market participation.
The Cointelegraph headline noted that ETH continues to have difficulty overcoming the $1.7K area. With spot-side inflows, softer demand and reduced futures open interest appearing together, analysts cited in the report framed the current setup as a warning sign for another wave of ETH selling.
