The Ethereum Foundation said it will sponsor the first Workshop on Privacy-Preserving Technologies, or WPPT 2026, according to a post on X. The event will run as an affiliated workshop of Asiacrypt 2026 and is scheduled to take place in Hong Kong in December 2026. The workshop is being organized by people affiliated with the Ethereum Foundation and will center on privacy-related cryptographic and blockchain topics. Areas listed by the organizers include zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), multi-party computation (MPC), fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), private information retrieval (PIR), privacy identity, blockchain privacy, and privacy systems that have already been deployed in practice. The stated goal is to connect theoretical research with real-world applications. The organizers have also opened a call for presentations. Submissions must include an abstract of no more than three pages, with a deadline set for Sept. 25.
