On August 9, BlockBeats reported that on-chain analyst Ai Yi (@ai_9684xtpa) detected a notable MKR move from an Ethereum ICO whale. This whale participated in the 2015 Ethereum ICO with 40,000 ETH. Between September 2018 and May 2019, the address withdrew 7,020.84 MKR at an average price of $828.92 per MKR token, putting the total value of the withdrawal at $5.81 million. More than seven years later, the wallet finally made its first transfer: it sent 3,510.42 MKR, exactly half of what it had withdrawn, to a new address. The transferred MKR was worth approximately $4.41 million at the time of reporting, which left an unrealized gain of roughly $1.506 million on that portion. Ai Yi also noted that the transferred tokens have not been further transferred or sold. After this move, the wallet still holds 3,510.42 MKR — the remaining half of the original withdrawal — with no additional transactions detected.

An on-chain analyst has flagged a rare MKR transfer from an Ethereum ICO whale after a dormant period of more than seven years. Ai Yi (@ai_9684xtpa) shared the monitoring details on August 9, noting the wallet had shifted 3,510.42 MKR to a new address.

According to the data, the same wallet withdrew 7,020.84 MKR between September 2018 and May 2019. It paid an average price of $828.92 per token, putting the total withdrawal at roughly $5.81 million. The whale originally entered the Ethereum ecosystem through the 2015 ICO, participating with 40,000 ETH.

The latest transfer happened about four hours before the analyst posted. The moved tokens are worth around $4.41 million, which means the address is sitting on an unrealized profit of about $1.506 million for that batch. No further transfer or sale has been detected since then.

The transaction is notable for its size and the long waiting time. For seven years, the wallet did not move any of its MKR, making this its first outgoing MKR transfer since the accumulation period.
