eToro has agreed to acquire U.S. online brokerage TradeZero in a deal worth up to $231 million, according to a statement that arrived alongside its second-quarter 2026 earnings report. The Nasdaq-listed investing platform called the acquisition a key step in expanding its U.S. presence and strengthening services for active traders. In the quarter, net contribution rose 9% year over year to $229 million, with equity trading activity as the main driver. TradeZero, founded in 2015, focuses on active U.S. traders and also runs operations in Canada and other international markets. Under the deal, eToro expects to broaden its U.S. retail customer base, gain stronger brokerage infrastructure and launch new products in the market more quickly. The purchase also fits into eToro's wider push into digital assets and on-chain finance; the company previously acquired self-custody crypto wallet provider Zengo. The TradeZero transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027.

eToro has agreed to buy U.S. online brokerage TradeZero for up to $231 million, according to The Block. The acquisition was unveiled alongside the Nasdaq-listed investing platform's second-quarter 2026 earnings, a report that showed continued profitable growth.

Deal announced with Q2 results

Net contribution rose 9% year over year to $229 million in the quarter, helped by stronger equity trading activity. That growth came as eToro presented the TradeZero deal as a way to expand its U.S. footprint and improve what it offers to active traders.

Who is TradeZero?

TradeZero was founded in 2015 and serves active U.S. traders, with additional operations in Canada and other international markets. eToro said the takeover will enlarge its U.S. retail customer base, give it stronger brokerage infrastructure and let it bring new products to the U.S. market faster.

Stocks, crypto and on-chain finance

The deal follows eToro's purchase of self-custody crypto wallet provider Zengo, part of its broader push into digital assets and on-chain finance. Buying TradeZero also fits into eToro's strategic direction of building a combined financial ecosystem spanning stock trading, crypto assets and multi-asset investing.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027.
