On-chain sleuth Lookonchain flagged a major movement: a wallet closely tied to f2pool co-founder Chun Wang pulled 15,740 Ether (worth roughly $26.4 million) from Binance over the past two hours.

Who Is Chun Wang? From GPU Miner to Infrastructure Titan

Born in Tianjin in 1982, Wang entered crypto via GPU mining in 2011, personally mining 7,700 BTC. In 2013 he co-founded f2pool, China’s first Bitcoin mining pool, which once commanded about one-third of the network’s total hashrate. To date, f2pool has mined over 1.3 million BTC — more than 9% of all Bitcoin ever mined.

As the industry shifted toward proof-of-stake, Wang founded stake.fish in 2018, a non-custodial staking service that now ranks among the largest validators for Ethereum, Solana, and Polkadot. His 2017 deep-dive conversation with Vitalik Buterin on PoS architecture laid the groundwork for his Ethereum ecosystem play.

Selling Bitcoin to Go to Space: The First Crypto Space Commander

Wang captured the crypto community’s imagination by liquidating Bitcoin to fund a private space mission. On March 31, 2025, he served as commander of SpaceX Crew Dragon “Fram2,” completing the first-ever crewed polar orbit flight over both Earth’s poles. Having visited more than 150 countries, Wang sees this as proof that crypto wealth can fuel exploration beyond finance.

Traders are now watching whether this withdrawal signals a bullish bet on Ether’s near-term price.
