Wang Chun: Banning Zcash Team Over Time Zone Confusion Was Best Decision

F2Pool co-founder Wang Chun (@satofishi) took to social media to recount an incident from six years ago when he decided to ban the entire Zcash team after they repeatedly confused EST (Eastern Standard Time) with EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). He said the move demonstrated a lack of fundamental understanding on basic principles, and he still considers it one of the best decisions he has ever made.

In his post, Wang drew a parallel to the BlockFi incident, where the firm mistakenly sent 701.4 BTC instead of 701.4 USD to a user. He argued that people who cannot tell EDT from EST are likely to also confuse BTC with USD, implying that such conceptual carelessness can lead to costly errors.
