Blockchain infrastructure company Flowra has launched an open orderflow auction, or OOA, for Solana, pitching it as a more transparent market structure for blockspace and maximal extractable value, or MEV. Under the system, registered searchers compete in public auctions for transaction inclusion rights instead of relying on closed orderflow channels. In early testing on a single validator, Flowra said blocks produced with the system saw a 20.6% increase in compute units per block.
The company also introduced programmable block policies that let validators define transaction packaging rules at the block-building layer without changing the underlying Solana protocol. Flowra said the feature is designed to help validators meet regulatory and compliance requirements. It has also partnered with compliance infrastructure provider Honeypot to add sanctions screening and risk checks to that layer.
Flowra CEO Harry Hwang said the aim is to create a more efficient market for blockspace through transparent competition in block building, while giving validators more control, verifiability, and auditability. The company is now bringing institutional-grade validators into the open orderflow auction, according to the report cited by Techub from CoinJournal.
Flowra, a blockchain infrastructure company, has launched an open orderflow auction for Solana, or OOA, in a bid to create a more transparent competitive market for blockspace and MEV.
The setup allows registered searchers to compete through public bidding for transaction packaging rights rather than depending on closed orderflow channels. In early testing on a single validator, Flowra said enabling the system increased compute units per block by 20.6%.
Programmable block policies added
Alongside the auction system, Flowra rolled out programmable block policies that let validators set their own transaction packaging strategies at the block-building layer. The company said this can be used to meet regulatory and compliance requirements without changing the underlying Solana protocol.
Flowra has also recently partnered with compliance infrastructure provider Honeypot to bring sanctions screening and risk checks to that layer.
CEO comments and validator onboarding
Flowra CEO Harry Hwang said the company aims to build a more efficient market for blockspace through transparent competition in block building, while giving validators greater control over block construction as well as verifiability and auditability.
Flowra is currently onboarding institutional-grade validators into its open orderflow auction, according to the CoinJournal report carried by Techub.
