Financie Inc., a Tokyo-based blockchain crowdfunding company, has announced the successful results of its Initial Exchange Offering (IEO) for FNCT (Financie Token) on the Japanese exchange Coincheck. The IEO saw overwhelming demand, with total applications reaching JPY 20,021,288,100 (approximately USD 150 million), representing an 18.78x oversubscription rate. FNCT will commence trading on Coincheck from March 16, 2023.
IEO Key Figures
According to the official press release, the IEO attracted applications from 24,833 accounts. The total amount sold was JPY 1,066,000,000 (approximately USD 8.0 million). The funds raised will be allocated to the further development of the FNCT ecosystem and the expansion and revitalization of the token's utility.
About FNCT (Financie Token)
FNCT is a crypto asset issued on the Ethereum blockchain and serves as the platform token for FiNANCiE, the token-issuing crowdfunding service provided by Financie. Unlike Community Tokens (CTs) issued by individual sports teams or creators, FNCT is a common platform token designed to enhance the long-term value of all CTs within the ecosystem. Its use cases include providing rewards to FiNANCiE users, incentivizing community growth, and enabling governance participation across the entire platform, thereby realizing a “user-driven operation” model.
Ecosystem and Roadmap
The FNCT ecosystem is built around a virtuous cycle: as more users engage with communities, the value of FNCT increases, which is then returned to holders. In Spring 2023, Financie will launch FNCT Staking. Users will be able to lock their FNCT tokens with validators (entities that verify and approve data) to receive rewards in FNCT. Detailed participation methods and reward structures will be announced at a later date.
The project's roadmap outlines several phases:
- Ver.0 (2019-2023): Stable operation of FiNANCiE as an app service.
- Ver.1 (mid-2023): FNCT IEO, launch of Staking and Governance.
- Ver.1.5 (by end of 2023): Expansion of domestic ecosystem, providing utilities for sports and creator economies.
- Ver.2: Launch of the global version of FiNANCiE.
- Ver.3: Consideration of a proprietary blockchain (FNBC), where FNCT would become the native token for gas fees and validation rewards.
Financie Inc. Background
Founded in January 2019 by CEO Hironao Kunimitsu, Financie has been providing reliable blockchain-based crowdfunding services. As of 2023, FiNANCiE hosts 92 sports communities, 60 entertainment communities, and 51 individual creator/influencer communities, most of which are Japan-based. The platform has facilitated over JPY 1.18 billion in primary token sales and JPY 1.34 billion in secondary token transactions, providing substantial financial support to sports teams and creators.
The successful IEO marks a significant milestone for FNCT as Financie prepares to list the token on global cryptocurrency exchanges, expanding its reach beyond Japan and further decentralizing the community-driven economy.
