Global investment manager Franklin Templeton and digital asset and artificial intelligence company Animoca Brands said they have formed a strategic partnership to bring tokenized real-world assets to NUVA Finance, a vault marketplace supported by Animoca Brands.
The partnership will expand NUVA beyond its current access to assets on the Provenance blockchain and extend the marketplace to institutional-grade assets from additional issuers. The companies also said they will explore the co-design and tokenization of cultural real-world assets.
NUVA broadens its asset scope
NUVA was incubated by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs and launched in May 2026. Its vault infrastructure can connect to assets on the Provenance blockchain. As of Sept. 24, 2026, total value locked in real-world assets on that chain was more than $30 billion.
Four-part research series announced
Alongside the partnership, the two sides launched a four-part joint research series. The research will cover what tokenization means for institutional investors, progress that is helping move the market forward, and changes in how institutions evaluate assets and construct portfolios.
Executives outline next steps
Animoca Brands co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu said the partnership can bring institutional-grade real-world assets into NUVA’s vault architecture while combining asset management with decentralized distribution channels.
Sandy Kaul, head of digital assets and industry advisory services at Franklin Templeton, said the next phase will focus on expanding access to and use of those assets and integrating them into a digital investment ecosystem.
Franklin Templeton had $1.83 trillion in assets under management as of Aug. 31, 2026. The companies said they expect to release more details on their cultural asset collaboration later this year.
