Fusion Source Energy (FSE) and its partners have signed a memorandum of understanding with on-chain real-world asset platform Loaf to pursue the on-chain issuance of more than $500 million in Australian solar and battery projects. The portfolio covers more than 1,000 hectares of land and is led by Project Amber, a development exceeding 200 megawatts.
Memorandum covers a pipeline worth more than $500 million
According to the memorandum, the funds raised are expected to accelerate project development and expand Amber’s battery capacity. Amber is a utility-scale solar park that will deploy more than 200 megawatts of solar generation alongside multi-hour battery energy storage at the same site. Its projected annual output could supply electricity to more than 70,000 homes, or an amount comparable to the power demand of a 50-megawatt data center.
Pipeline also includes smaller storage and distributed energy assets
The project pipeline also includes battery storage assets below 5 megawatts and distributed energy resources. These modular assets are located closer to end users and can create diversified energy revenue across multiple sites in Australia.
What FSE and Loaf said
FSE Chief Executive Officer Weiwei Shi said Amber is one of the larger hybrid co-located projects in the Southern Hemisphere. Shi said projects of this type have historically been available only to a small group of institutional investors, while Loaf can broaden investor access without adding extra friction and provide ongoing, transparent pricing for the assets.
Loaf said Project Amber will become a key asset in its ecosystem. As the project matures and begins trading, users will be able to take long or short positions and use these assets across the on-chain financial ecosystem. Loaf said it will participate in the on-chain trading and issuance of real-world assets, allowing users to gain exposure to the economic upside and yield of the related infrastructure assets.
