Brad Garlinghouse said XRP sits at the center of Ripple’s product strategy, tying Payments, Prime, and Treasury to XRP and RLUSD, while linking U.S. regulatory clarity and the CLARITY Act to institutional adoption plans.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said XRP is the center of Ripple’s product strategy during XRP Community Day discussions on X Spaces, describing the token as the company’s “North Star.” He said Ripple is aligning payments, custody, lending, and treasury-related products around XRP and RLUSD as it builds out a broader financial infrastructure model.

Payments, Prime, and Treasury tied to XRP and RLUSD

Garlinghouse said Ripple Payments connects directly to activity on the XRP Ledger, including decentralized exchange functions that use permissioned domains. He described the setup as a way to improve transaction efficiency and liquidity. He then pointed to Ripple Prime, saying the product supports XRP-based collateral and lending activity, with a focus on institutional use cases that depend on deep liquidity.

He also highlighted Ripple Treasury, which he said supports payment flows involving XRP and RLUSD inside corporate treasury systems. In his view, these products work together to expand trust and utility around XRP. Garlinghouse said Ripple sees itself as financial infrastructure rather than a crypto-first company. Compliance and institutional standards remain central to that positioning.

Aviva Investors tokenization effort fits Ripple’s institutional push

Garlinghouse also referenced Ripple’s work with Aviva Investors, which he described as one of the world’s largest asset managers. According to his remarks, Aviva Investors is tokenizing assets on the XRP Ledger. He linked that effort to Ripple’s institutional strategy and said the company is designing infrastructure to meet enterprise needs in custody, settlement, and compliance.

That is where XRP and RLUSD keep showing up across Ripple’s platforms. Garlinghouse said liquidity and trust are still the two main requirements for scaling blockchain-based financial systems. The point was direct: Ripple wants XRP inside larger institutional financial workflows, not limited to a narrow payments role.

U.S. legislation seen as part of long-term adoption planning

Garlinghouse also discussed U.S. crypto legislation and said he expects renewed momentum for the CLARITY Act. He estimated there is a 75% chance the bill could move close to final approval by late April. His comments followed recent remarks from Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty, who said White House discussions had shown progress toward compromise language.

Garlinghouse added that White House advisor Patrick Witt thanked participants from the crypto and banking sectors and said work on the bill is continuing. He tied regulatory clarity directly to Ripple’s long-term planning, saying clear rules remain important if institutions are to adopt financial infrastructure built around XRP.
