Gate has officially launched Japan stock trading, with an initial lineup of about 300 stocks listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE). The first batch includes Toyota Motor, Sony Group, SoftBank Group, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Nintendo and Tokyo Electron, among other widely followed names.
According to Gate, users do not need to open a separate traditional Japanese brokerage account or convert funds into Japanese yen before trading. Instead, they can access Japan stock trading on the platform directly with USDT.
The service is currently available on Gate’s web platform. App access is expected to go live in the coming days.
Trading functions and hours
Japan stocks share the same stock account and related trading capabilities already used for Gate’s U.S., Hong Kong and South Korea stock products. Supported functions include quote viewing, buy and sell orders, position management, and trade record inquiries.
Gate said Japan stocks are available for intraday trading during Japan market hours of 09:00–11:30 and 12:30–15:25. In UTC+8, that corresponds to 08:00–10:30 and 11:30–14:25.
Broader multi-asset stock offering
Gate said the launch adds to its global multi-asset trading coverage. The platform currently supports more than 10,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, more than 1,500 Hong Kong stocks, more than 1,000 South Korea stocks, and about 300 Japan stocks. In total, that amounts to more than 12,800 stocks and ETF trading choices on the platform.
Gate said it plans to keep expanding access to core global markets and quality assets, with the goal of combining traditional finance and digital assets while giving users a broader one-stop allocation menu.
