According to Odaily, Gate Stock has officially launched Hong Kong share trading, expanding its range of global multi-asset allocation services. Users who upgrade the Gate App to version v8.23.5 or above can access trading in stocks listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, or HKEX, through the Gate platform while using USDT directly.
USDT-Based Access to Hong Kong Stocks
Under the newly launched arrangement, users do not need to open a separate account with a traditional securities broker, and they do not need to exchange funds into Hong Kong dollars by themselves before entering the Hong Kong stock market. Gate said the Hong Kong share function is integrated into the same stock account system used for U.S. stocks, allowing users to handle trading, position management, profit and loss checks, and historical record reviews within one account structure.
The first phase covers more than 1,000 Hong Kong-listed stock targets. The list spans several core sectors, including technology and internet, finance, new energy, telecommunications, consumer, and biomedicine. Representative companies included in the initial coverage include Tencent Holdings, HSBC Holdings, Xiaomi Group, Meituan, BYD Company, and China Mobile.
Trading Hours, Currency Display, and Fees
Gate also stated that the Hong Kong share trading service supports intraday trading only. It does not provide pre-market or after-hours trading services. Prices, profit and loss figures, and the market value of holdings are displayed in Hong Kong dollars, or HKD. Trading fees are converted at the real-time exchange rate and deducted in USDT.
With the launch of the Hong Kong stock product, Gate Stock has broadened its global stock product matrix. The service adds Hong Kong equities to the existing stock account framework and gives users a single entry point for participating in stock trading across different markets.
